How will I know that my child has made progress?

Observations

Most of the ongoing (formative) assessment will be done through observations and are used to form judgements about where a child is in their learning journey. They are used to track progress and inform planning. They are also used to report back to parents via various social media. Parents are informed of their children’s progress through social media regularly. This application also encourages parents to share observations of their child at home, building an ongoing picture of their child’s development.

Learning
Portfolio

The Learning Portfolio will formally report children’s progress and development to parents
This includes the learning experiences children have gained through planned activities and spontaneous enquiry. Children’s learning and development are evaluated over the year. As they need to use knowledge in different contexts and apply skills in new ways before learning becomes secure.

Reports

The children will be assessed against the Pre-Ivy Curriculum outcomes twice a year. This will be shared with parents at a parent consultation meetings.
